As part of our extensive Arboriculture services, we are often called upon to supply and install new trees for our clients. This provides a fantastic opportunity to provide clients with the right advice about what trees they can (and shouldn’t!) plant within their urban gardens to achieve the best possible outcome in the long term.
Most recently we were asked to plant a screen along a property boundary. Following discussions with the client we suggested the Grevillea ‘Misty Pink’ as a suitable native plant that would satisfy the clients desired outcomes.
This hybrid Grevillea grows to approximately 3 metres in height, and has ferny like foliage which will tolerate frequent trimming to maintain the high level of screening required.
This native plant grows quickly in the Brisbane area, has a high aesthetic value and requires little after care once established. Not only do the flowers provide a stunning visual display, but the plants are excellent for attracting local fauna and improving bio-diversity.
The small plants approximately 60cm in height looked great immediately after planting, and a recent follow up inspection had seen a fantastic 8 inches of growth over a few short weeks! Needless to say both customer and plants were happy with the result!
